About the Brand
What is Ember Slown?
Ember Slown is a small Canadian brand born out of a simple belief: that your daily rituals deserve better. We make clean hot chocolate with high-quality ingredients, because we think slowing down shouldn't come with a long ingredient list.
Why only two ingredients?
Because we believe less is more. Most hot chocolates are full of fillers, preservatives, refined sugar, and artificial ingredients. We stripped it back to just two: pure cacao and organic maple sugar — so you get all the flavor.

What are the ingredients?
Just two: organic cacao crafted from two of the world's rarest cacao varieties (Criollo & Trinitario) and organic maple sugar.
Is your hot chocolate vegan?
Yes! Both ingredients are 100% plant-based.
Is your hot chocolate gluten-free?
Yes! Ember Slown is completely gluten-free.
Is your hot chocolate allergen-free?
Yes! Ember Slown is free from the top 14 allergens including gluten, dairy, nuts, soy, eggs, and wheat.
Is your cacao tested for heavy metals?
Yes. Our cacao is independently tested for heavy metals by a certified third-party laboratory — meaning an outside company with no connection to us runs the tests to make sure our results are honest and accurate.
Here's something worth knowing: all cacao naturally contains trace amounts of heavy metals like lead and cadmium because cacao plants absorb minerals from the soil they grow in. This is true for every cacao product on the market. The real question is how much — and whether brands actually test for it.
Most brands don't publicly talk about heavy metals testing at all. We do, because we believe you deserve to know exactly what's in your cup. Our tests show very low levels, well below safety standards, so you can enjoy your cup every day with complete peace of mind.

How should I store my hot chocolate?
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, reseal the bag tightly.
Orders & Shipping
Where do you ship?
We currently ship across Canada.
How long does delivery take?
Orders typically arrive within 3 to 10 business days, depending on your location.
You'll receive a tracking number as soon as your order ships.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on all orders over $60 CAD. For orders under $60 CAD, a flat shipping fee of $12 CAD applies.
Can I track my order?
Yes! Once your order ships you will receive a tracking number by email.
Returns & Issues
What if my order arrives damaged?
If your order arrives damaged please contact us at hello@emberslown.ca within 48 hours with a photo and we will make it right.
Do you accept returns?
Due to the nature of food products, all sales are final. If your order arrives damaged or there is an issue with your product, please contact us at hello@emberslown.ca within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and a photo. We will review each situation on a case by case basis.
